Happy Mothers Day!!!

What a lucky Lady I am to have the husband and son I do. I couldn't have asked for a better first mothers day and I love the gift my husband got me. I woke up to two cards and a gift.

My husbands card read:

Someday, many years from now, we'll look back on this crazy time in our life together and wonder how we did it all...I'll sit close beside you and take your hand in mine. We'll look at each other and say "I'd do it all again...and I wouldn't change a thing." There is no one I'd rather go through life with than you...my partner, my love, my wife.
Happy Mothers Day.

And my sons card read:

For Mommy, From your little one. "A mommy's love is as sweet as honey, and that's as sweet as anybody can get." Mommy, thanks for all the love and nice things that you do. I'm such a lucky baby, and I'm glad my mommy's you! Happy Mothers day.

I love my boys.

And here is what they got me:

Steve, Max and I all share the same birth stone 'blue Topaz" which is what he got me. It's so special to me because there is meaning behind the gift. He spoiled me today and let me get a pedicure and take it easy which was nice. We went for brunch with my family and Delia at the Homestead where Steve and I got engaged. It was so special having Max there and spending my first mothers day at the place where Steve and I started our family two years ago. I am so blessed to have the family I do, and love being a mom to Max. He means the world to me and I couldn't imagine my life without him.

This is what I woke up to...what mommy wouldn't be in heaven:

Not only was it my first mothers day, but it was also the first time Max ate real food. Steve and I made him pureed butternut squash which he LOVED. He ate so well and barely made a mess. He had it twice today and loved every bite.

4 Month Checkup

Max had his 4 month check up yesterday. He was 15.9 lbs and was 26 inches long. That puts him in the 50th percentile for weight and 75th for height. He got his shots and the doctor said he looked FANTASTIC! He has been sleeping through the night for about three weeks now (it got a bit dicey when he got sick but he is back on track). We finally cut out the 10pm feedings since he goes to bed at 7pm and sleeps through to 5:30am at which point Steve feeds him and he goes down again for another few hours. He is giggling all the time and loves to laugh which makes it sooo much fun to be around him. We are starting him on oatmeal this week, tonight being the first night. We mixed it in with formula and fed it to him by spoon which was a lot more difficult then I had expected. It ended up being a huge mess, but it was so cute to watch him eat it. Every time we would remove the spoon he would scream, we eventually quit and fed him the bottle. Tonight we will try it again.

He is still not rolling around as much as I'd like him to, but he did roll for me when we were in Miami and he seemed to do it rather easily. More and more people are now telling me he looks like a split between mom and dad which of course makes me happy and drives Steve mad haha Maxi still loves his bath time and it has become a bit more difficult bathing him since he LOVES to kick and splash around like a maniac. He does it with such gusto, I always worry he is going to hurt himself.
We got the cutest compliment on our way home from Miami. Some fellow passengers said he was such a gorgeous baby, and not all babies are cute but he was super delicious. That is always nice to hear and of course being his mommy I have to agree, he is superrrrr delicious and a very well behaved baby :)I am counting the seconds for the weekend to get here so I can spend every minute I have with him. xoxo

Here are some pictures of his first time eating oatmeal:

It just keeps getting messier and messier:
