False Positive Pregnancy Test???
That is the question I am trying to figure out. After having taken conflicting tests last night and a bit of spotting I took two more tests today and they both came out negative. My body is telling me I am pregnant, however the tests are not confirming that. I am still four days away from my period so I guess I'll keep you posted :)

OMG!!!!! I'M PREGNANT!!!!!
OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!! To say I'm shocked is an understatement, but it seems I am pregnant! I literally just got the positive test ten minutes ago and my heart is racing. It's a Sunday night and we had a few of our friends over for a bbq earlier and once they left I figured I'd take a test just for kicks ( I woke up having spotted a few days before my expected period so I figured something was up). Of course I took a line test again ( I guess I didn't learn anything with Max) and it came out negative...so Steve and I said next month we would try again. He had already chided me for taking three tests in the past two days with each one having shown up negative. Call it mothers intuition or pure crazy but I went back to the bathroom and fished the test out of the garbage to see if I could see a faint second line like I had with Max...this is what the test looked like:

And in my crazy head something was telling me that I was pregant. So here I am taking out a fourth test and took it, this time a clearblue one that says pregnant or not pregnant. In my head I'm thinking this is crazy and so I'm just watching the Emmys while waiting for the test to give me an answer. Without even paying attention (this all seems so deja vu) I looked down and there it is Pregnant!!!!

I was floored/shocked/elated/scared/shocked/nervous and VERY EXCITED and my heart started racing just like the first time I got pregant. I raced upstairs and gave the test to Steve who was also shocked. Of course we are super excited, we are just soooo surprised it happened so fast. Now I just hope everything goes very smoothly. No more drinking, no more lots of stuff...let the wild ride begin. ps. I just took another test...of course and it showed up negative...ahhhhh! Now I don't have anymore in the house haha Guess I'll let you know tomorrow if I am :)

Rash Update
This morning Max woke up with the rash covering not only his entire body but also his face. In other words the rash got worse. Steve and Maria took him to the doctor where they told us it was definitely a reaction to the amoxicillin and therefore he will not be able to be on any drugs in the penicillin family until he is 2 years old and can be tested for allergies. Given that I am severely allergic to penicillin it's no surprise that he could be too, I am just glad nothing worse happened. From now on whenever he starts a new medicine we have to be super careful and watch him. The doctor said his rash would disappear whenever his body gets rid of it, until then we just need to keep him comfortable, give him tylenol when he feels uncomfortable and bring him back to the doctor on Wednesday so they can make sure his ear infection is gone and he won't require more medication. I hope my little man feels better soon because it's heartbreaking to see him this way :(

Officially Trying for another baby....
I can't believe it, but we are officially trying for baby number 2. Max is now 8.5 months old and we can't wait to give him a younger brother or sister. So I guess it's a waiting game now. With Max we got pregnant on the second try...can we beat that this time? Only time will tell :)
Poor Max has a rash

This morning Max woke up crying with a huge rash covering his entire body. His butt, legs, arms along with his back were the worst, but by the time he went to bed it was on his belly too and had become more red and swollen. We called the doctor who told us to immediately stop giving him the antibiotics he had been on for almost a week and to give him 3 ml of Benedryl. She told us we need to bring him in tomorrow so they can check the rash and see if he still has an ear infection and is in need of a different antibiotic. Poor guy was definitely not himself today and was beyond fussy which is not like him. He is asleep now and if he wakes up soon I'll give him more Benedryl since I was told to give it to him every six hours. Below are some pics from this morning before it got dark red and swollen.

Max has his first Fever
My poor little boy has caught a fever of 102.8 and so Steve and Maria took him to the doctor. Turns out he has an ear infection and has to be on antibiotics for ten days (two doses a day) and two days of tylenol (1.2ml) every four hours. He was burning up when I got home and so I put a cold wash cloth on his forehead and fed him before putting him to sleep. He woke up every 2-3 hours crying and hot and so I fed him some more and gave him more tynenol. It's the worst feeling seeing your baby in pain and all you want to do is make them feel better. Luckily after 10 pm he fell asleep for the night and woke up at 5am feeling a bit better. He still looked pale and had a fever but wasn't as hot as the night before. He seemed to be in better spirits crawling around like the champ he is. I can't wait to get home to him and shower him with love and take care of him.
Max meets family in Switzerland
We had a wonderful time in Switzerland visiting family and introducing Max to everyone. Sadly the weather was cold and rainy most of the time we were there but it was worth it for everyone to meet him. The flight there was hard because it was a night flight and Max didn't want to sleep and we were exhausted. The flight home was long but easier since it was a day flight. He slept 1.5 hours out of the nine hour flight so we had to keep him very entertained which is difficult but we managed. Sadly the long trip gave him a fever and an ear infection and I'm not sure I'll be doing a long trip again for some time to come. Nani and Nelly adored Max and were so good with him. It was nice being able to go out to dinners at night while the great grandparents watched Max. The only difficult part is getting him back on a sleep schedule again since everyone kept taking him out of his bed and playing with him when he would wake up crying so now he seems to think he can do that at home as well. As nice as the trip was I was soooo excited to go home.

8 Months Old!!!!!!
My little sweetheart is 8 months old today and I just can't believe it! How did he grow so fast! I feel like I literally just had him yesterday and now he is crawling around and wearing 9 month clothing.
He even reached a milestone today by pulling himself up in the crib this morning. Steve walked in and saw him do it and immediately called me at work. Of course I was super sad I had missed it but luckily he seems to do it with ease now and I was able to witness it when I got home.
Poor little man has been waking up crying in pain the past few nights. We think he had gas one night since he hadn't gone to the bathroom that day, but we also think he is getting a third tooth. My guess would be one of the top ones this time. We are currently packing for Switzerland and will be heading there in two days to introduce our little man to my family and we are super excited. I haven't had a vacation since last February ('09) and I'm in dire need of one. Most of all I'm just looking forward to hanging with my family, ESPECIALLY Maxi and my lovely hubby for a week. I haven't had 10 days with my son since I was on maternity leave and to say I'm superrrrr excited is an understatement.
Happy 8 Months baby, your mommy loves you more than anything.

"Wild Man Bill"

Since Max has started to crawl there has not been a boring second in the house. He keeps us on our toes and wants to crawl on every inch of the floor touching whatever is in his way. He can now crawl like a big boy and only army crawls when he gets over excited and needs to go full speed ahead.

He loves to stand up and try to walk while one of us holds his hands.

My guess would be he will be walking in two months time. Today we gave him a sippy cup for the first time and he didn't seem to enjoy it too much. I think the flow was too much for him and so I'm going to go and get him a slower nipple.
For the past two weeks my cousin Anthony and his girlfriend Linda were visiting from Switzerland and Maxi loved hanging out with the both of them. Only five more days until we leave for Switzerland to introduce Max to my entire family...can't wait!

Grandpa and Maxi:

Proud Mommy:

- Crawling all over (was army crawling for the past two or three weeks)
- Loves to stand on his feet holding our hands and trying to walk
- Can sit for as long as he wants without falling over
- Can't go from laying down to sitting. Hasn't pulled himself up to stand unless he is holding our hands.
- Two teeth
- Hasn't had meat yet which we need to start.
- Wears 9 month clothing
- Says mammamamma and daddadada all the time although he says mamma more :)
- Still sleeping great at night. Our bedtime routine is working wonderfully and he goes down at 6:30 with no issues unless he is teething and he is in pain. I think his third tooth is about to come in.
- Loves bath time and splashes around a lot. He also turns around on to his stomach and moves around in the tub.
