"Wild Man Bill"

Since Max has started to crawl there has not been a boring second in the house. He keeps us on our toes and wants to crawl on every inch of the floor touching whatever is in his way. He can now crawl like a big boy and only army crawls when he gets over excited and needs to go full speed ahead.

He loves to stand up and try to walk while one of us holds his hands.

My guess would be he will be walking in two months time. Today we gave him a sippy cup for the first time and he didn't seem to enjoy it too much. I think the flow was too much for him and so I'm going to go and get him a slower nipple.

For the past two weeks my cousin Anthony and his girlfriend Linda were visiting from Switzerland and Maxi loved hanging out with the both of them. Only five more days until we leave for Switzerland to introduce Max to my entire family...can't wait!

Grandpa and Maxi:

Proud Mommy:

- Crawling all over (was army crawling for the past two or three weeks)

- Loves to stand on his feet holding our hands and trying to walk

- Can sit for as long as he wants without falling over

- Can't go from laying down to sitting. Hasn't pulled himself up to stand unless he is holding our hands.

- Two teeth

- Hasn't had meat yet which we need to start.

- Wears 9 month clothing

- Says mammamamma and daddadada all the time although he says mamma more :)

- Still sleeping great at night. Our bedtime routine is working wonderfully and he goes down at 6:30 with no issues unless he is teething and he is in pain. I think his third tooth is about to come in.

- Loves bath time and splashes around a lot. He also turns around on to his stomach and moves around in the tub.

I guess this is the end...

It seems as though the tight bond that had been forged between one of our dogs and Max has come to an end. Yesterday Chloe tried not once, not twice, BUT three times to bite Max. Luckily she missed when she growled and snapped at him, once coming real close to his nose. It frightened both Steve and I and came as a huge surprise given how much the two of them loved each other. Poor Max wants nothing but to play with Chloe and now we have to seperate them. Even our Nanny was totally shocked when we told her she had to keep Chloe away from Max. Steve threatened to give her away but that is not something I'm considering unless my son truly is in danger. I'm hoping we can figure out whats going on with her and rectify the situation.

Pool Parties to Babyshowers...its been a busy weekend!

Max attended his first babyshower for a friend of mine who is having a girl next month. We ventured into the city and as usual he was a total angel. We got home and went to the club to hangout a bit with my parents and the following day we went from pool to pool seeing friends.

Sunday morning we got up real early and went for our usual run and then got Max dressed for the day. He was excited to get the day going:

Our first pool party was at my bosses house where we brought Max so he could meet Loren, his wife. She had a few of her friends over and we laughed talking about the differences between boys and girls and whose cheaper and who is more of a headache in their teenage years. While we were in the pool with all these moms who have grown children now either in high school or in college, I decided to ask Loren when she dunked her daughter for the first time. She said young for sure and said I could totally dunk Maxi.

They gave us advice, told us to blow REALLY hard into his face so he holds his breath and then dunk him which we did. He was such a trooper and didn't cry. He just squirted the water he had swallowed back out.

After we left we went to the Anstey House with my parents to celebrate Fabs engagement and to swim with Maxi. We decided to dunk him again so everyone could see, and again he was a trooper and didn't cry. Here are some pictures right when he came up:

Maxi began to teeth so a friend told us she used to give frozen mini bagels for them to chew on and it worked well. The idea sounded great so we did the same and gave Maxi a frozen bagel. He LOVED it. Was chewing and chewing on this frozen bagel until I noticed that he had some big chunks in his mouth. Then all of a sudden he started making a choking sound as if a piece was lodged in his throat and so it was a bit scary. I've never seen daddy jump out of the pool so fast, but by the time I had gotten up and smacked his back real hard a few times it came flying out along with his entire bottle he had just eaten. We will no longer be giving him frozen bagels since he has jaws of steel it seems :)

We finished this wonderful weekend by going to Stew Leonards to get food for the week. It was a first for Max, who loved the experience and couldn't get enough of the puppets they have all over the place. He also got to sit in his first shopping cart which he was big enough to sit in, and he thought it was awesome. Our baby is growing into such a lovely boy and the ride has been so fun! What's next??

He did it AGAIN!

This time it was in front of daddy though so I have proof. As I was dressing Max for bed Daddy walks in and starts distracting Maxi, which is when he put his arm out and touched me and said "MAMMA". OH YES, THIS TIME DADDY SAW IT! It was even sweeter this time, because he had both of us in there and he distinctly knew the difference when he turned to look and touch me and said it. AMAZING! Of course Daddy tried to get him to say Dadda...but nope, my lil man knows there is only one Mamma in this house :)

Max's 2nd Tooth has arrived...

Today I came home from work to find out my son got his second tooth. My lil man is growing so fast I want to stop time so he stays like this forever. I can't get enough of him he is just too cute for words. I've been trying to feed him new foods, yesterday he got a taste of cake and today he had blueberries. He loved the cake, but the blueberries were a different story. He ate them, but he kept making faces as if he were eating a lemon.

Trying Cake:

Trying Blueberries:

Max is already getting himself into trouble...we will now have to lock everything up:

And last but not least...my little man the rock star:

- Can sit on his own, but doesn't like to do so for long periods of time

- Still crawling around on all fours without using his arms. He moves his legs, drops down and does it all over again.

- Has two teeth

- He has definitely gotten much bigger lately, in length and weight.

- No real stranger anxiety this week, but doesn't like to be put down a lot.

- Still sleeping 12 hour nights.

- Eating 6 ounces every three hours, cereal for breakfast, pureed foods for lunch and dinner.

- Loves to stand on his feet, it's the thing he does the most. Can't get up on his own yet, but he can hold on to something and stand there on his own.

- Laughs out loud when I blow air into his face.

Abuela's Birthday and Maxi's first word....

Today we celebrated Maxi's Grandmothers birthday. It was a family packed day filled with tons of food and laughs. We watched the world cup soccer finals and just relaxed with the kids.

It was also a very special day because Max said his FIRST real word today. I was changing his diaper in the morning when he held out his arms for me and said "MAMMA"!!!! I couldn't believe it. It wasn't the first time he has said it, but usually it's just mammamamamamam and it wasn't only directed at me. Today it was only Mamma and definitely directed at me when he put his arms out and looked at me. It was such a cute moment and I can't wait for him to say it again!

I think Max's second tooth is about to come out because he is teething the same way he was before his first tooth came in. Abuela thought she could feel the second one already but I didn't. So tomorrow we shall check again.

Grandpa bought Maxi a special toy this weekend which he already loves to play with:

What happens when Mom and Dad are not home.....

Sadly since Steve and I both work we have to leave Max at home with his nanny. Luckily we have an amazing nanny who watches after our son as if he were her own. He adores her which is the only thing that matters to Steve and I and makes it easier for us to be away from home. I say easier, but definitely not easy. Being a working mom is something I struggle with as you already know from my previous posts. At the moment I don't have a choice and so I try to deal with it the best I can. What makes it a bit easier is knowing that my son is very well taken care of. Maria loves taking pictures of Maxi...so if you have ever wondered what goes on during the day while he is alone with his super nanny...well here is an inside look:

Playing with his toys:

Maxi loves books. If you are wondering what he is looking at...that would be Chloe. Maxi is always focused on where the dogs are:

Trying to crawl around:

(Again....you see Chloe in the background...Maxi is once again trying to get her attention. Those two are inseparable):

Feeding time at the zoo:

Attempting to get up:

Standing up in his crib:

A rare sighting...my boy taking a nap:
