Pool Parties to Babyshowers...its been a busy weekend!

Max attended his first babyshower for a friend of mine who is having a girl next month. We ventured into the city and as usual he was a total angel. We got home and went to the club to hangout a bit with my parents and the following day we went from pool to pool seeing friends.

Sunday morning we got up real early and went for our usual run and then got Max dressed for the day. He was excited to get the day going:

Our first pool party was at my bosses house where we brought Max so he could meet Loren, his wife. She had a few of her friends over and we laughed talking about the differences between boys and girls and whose cheaper and who is more of a headache in their teenage years. While we were in the pool with all these moms who have grown children now either in high school or in college, I decided to ask Loren when she dunked her daughter for the first time. She said young for sure and said I could totally dunk Maxi.

They gave us advice, told us to blow REALLY hard into his face so he holds his breath and then dunk him which we did. He was such a trooper and didn't cry. He just squirted the water he had swallowed back out.

After we left we went to the Anstey House with my parents to celebrate Fabs engagement and to swim with Maxi. We decided to dunk him again so everyone could see, and again he was a trooper and didn't cry. Here are some pictures right when he came up:

Maxi began to teeth so a friend told us she used to give frozen mini bagels for them to chew on and it worked well. The idea sounded great so we did the same and gave Maxi a frozen bagel. He LOVED it. Was chewing and chewing on this frozen bagel until I noticed that he had some big chunks in his mouth. Then all of a sudden he started making a choking sound as if a piece was lodged in his throat and so it was a bit scary. I've never seen daddy jump out of the pool so fast, but by the time I had gotten up and smacked his back real hard a few times it came flying out along with his entire bottle he had just eaten. We will no longer be giving him frozen bagels since he has jaws of steel it seems :)

We finished this wonderful weekend by going to Stew Leonards to get food for the week. It was a first for Max, who loved the experience and couldn't get enough of the puppets they have all over the place. He also got to sit in his first shopping cart which he was big enough to sit in, and he thought it was awesome. Our baby is growing into such a lovely boy and the ride has been so fun! What's next??

  1. I love your blog and Maxi is so cute. I wanted to let you know that we take my daughter to "swim class". She's been in it since she was 3m. And she knows how to hold her breath on her own. You do "One, Two, Three" and then you take a BIG LOUD breath and then you put their chin in the water and blow bubbles. Eventually (we had like 4 lessons. one each saturday of a month) he'll go all the way under. When i do a big breath sounds she immediately holds her breath. Have fun!
