Max 14 Months

I can't believe how much Max has grown in the past 14 months. It has become so much fun to interact with him and teach him all new things. We have practiced smells ranging from foods, to candles, to plants. He is learning his fruits and can tell a lemon from an orange although his favorite thing to do is grab and it take a bite of whatever I'm holding. We practice knocking on doors before we enter and saying "knock knock whose there" which he loves. After we knock he tries to open the door and once in the room he knows how to turn on the lights. He can walk a few feet on his own but then gets to excited and lunges. He prefers to crawl and gets around so fast he doesn't try to walk much although I don't think that will be far off. Tonight we practiced some more and he did well but his excitement always gets the best of him.

He has officially moved to his new room which we love. It is so big and still needs a little work such as art work and some toys but otherwise it is perfect. Now I'm working on Matteo's room to make it special for him.

We know use fluoride free toothpaste when we brush his teeth and loves the strawberry flavor. He has been teething earlier in the month which kept him up a few nights and made him refuse wanting to get his teeth brushed but that seems to have passed.

It has been the snowiest of January's ever in Connecticut and Max loves looking out the window at the snow.

We tried to skip his naps since he sleeps 12 hours a night and figured he didn't need two naps a day anymore. Some days we are able to skip the morning nap but most days we cannot. If he still wants them we are still going to put him down for both then.

He has been going to swim class every Saturday, I even got in the water with him one weekend since Steve now works during his swim class. It wasn't easy being this pregnant and going swimming but we enjoyed it. Yesterday Grandpa decided to go with him and Max wanted none of it. Grandpa had taken him before and Max loved it, but yesterday he was cold, tired and only wanted Mommy. He has been having some separation anxiety when it comes to Steve and me and cries like crazy if I get out of the car to run an errand while someone stays in the car with him, even if it is Daddy. Maxi also cries when Steve goes to work and he is left with Maria. He has also been getting jealous when Steve and I hug and kiss or we snuggle with one of our dogs. He just starts to cry and gets upset which is showing us a little of what is to come once Matteo arrives.

Max has been eating well, and really enjoys everything. Orange juice is one of his favorite breakfast treats and he loves cereal. His pooping has been getting a little better even though Maria feeds him a lot of prunes. I try not to do that on weekends so his body can process his food without help, and today it seemed to go fine.

Max loves to watch Dadda on television and definitely knows it is his dad he is watching. His favorite thing to say these days is Dadda, he says it all day long. Besides dadda, he says mamma and daisy. That is it for words we can decipher, but he blabs all day long.

Max has found my ipad to be the coolest thing to play with these days with the exception of his own blackberry phone that we charge for him.

We are so excited to welcome Matteo into our little family and to see how Maxi will react. Being a parent really does keep getting better and better and the older they get the more fun it becomes. I am loving parenthood and am definitely looking forward to adding a third child to our growing family at some point :)

Me pregnant right now at 6 months (it has now gotten difficult with my belly size):
