My boy is 1.5 years old!

Wowser! How he has grown! It is so much fun to be around him and I am sooo lucky to be able to spend time with him and Jake while I'm on maternity leave. Sadly our wonderful nanny Maria has had to leave us. She is heading back to Brazil after her mother suddenly died and she has had some health issues. We were really sad to let her go and have been interviewing people to take her place.
Max has been so great to his brother and it is sooo cute to see him love his brother so much. He holds his hand and rocks him in his bed and loves to hold him when we place him in his arms. I can't wait for Jake to be old enough to appreciate his older brother as well.

Max is still not talking but he recognizes words and can point them out in books or puzzles. For example he points out bananas, lady bugs, cats, dogs, ships, planes, cars, trains, helicopters, fire trucks and flowers. I have been practicing a lot with him since I've been home and I can see a huge difference. He knows his belly button and can kick his leg when I ask him to. He can point out his ears and raise his arms and clap and wave or blow a kiss.

He loves to throw balls to the dogs and be outside. He could be outside all day long if he could. He still loves the pool like he did last summer and luckily the weather has been gorgeous lately.

We love to call him the mayor of munchkin land since he is always outside on his bike and all the construction workers here know him. He is a total mommys boy and always wants to be held. He still hits his head against the wall or tables when he becomes frustrated.

Because he is not speaking he has mastered the art of pointing and grunting. It seems to work for him since we give him everything he wants when he points. He still eats very healthy and loves broccoli, pasta, chicken and hot dogs without the skin. Fruits especially blackberries, strawberries and bananas are his favorite. And when he eats a very good dinner he gets a few little bites of kinder chocolate which he loves.

His favorite tv shows are Thomas the Train and Bob the builder which we put him for him during the week. I have tried to limit the tv time and instead do some reading with him so he can learn how to speak.

Max is so friendly with everyone, to the point where when we are in mommy and me class he just hugs other moms and stays in their arms. Or when strangers come in to the house he reaches out to them. It is amazing how friendly he is and really cute.

He still loves bubbles and his toy cars which he plays with everyday. He loves to push around stuff and is always throwing balls. He is just too cute for words and we are head over heels. He is weighing in at 24 pounds and is wearing a size 5 diaper. He poops once a day but we still put prune juice in his milk. He hates getting his poopy diaper changed and will cry and pout until we force him to do it.

His nap routine is great and never a problem and on most nights he sleeps great. Next week he and Jake have their doctor appointments so I will post more then. Until then I'll be enjoying every moment I have with my boys.
