What can I say...RoLo '09 was a total success. I'm sure you're wondering what RoLo even is...well, it's our annual trip filled with romance and love, just the two of us...RoLo-Solo! Sadly I caught the flu last week and was in bed for a few days so i wasn't fully recovered by the time our trip rolled around, but i was on the mend. We got there Friday and spent three days getting massages, facials, kayaking, reading, site seeing, eating at great places and just enjoying each other. It was way more expensive then I had wished for, however it was our last weekend together before our lives will be forever changed with the arrival of our son. The last weekend we could fully enjoy ourselves without having to worry about babysitters and children and all the other good stuff. And it was Soooo worth it. We made a promise to go on a annual RoLo trip together, no kids, dogs or distractions...just husband and wife enjoying some "us" time.
Monday we got back and had our friends wedding in Queens. It was a wonderful celebration and the bride looked amazing. I even managed to make it on the dance floor for a good portion of the night, and of course my lovely husband was all over the dance floor just enjoying himself.
Max's kicks have been getting stronger and stronger, especially when i lay on my side. We have our doctors appointment on Thursday where they will test me for gestational diabetes. I'm just super excited to see him, its felt like ages since our last ultrasound. I'll also be getting my second rhogam shot in the butt...can't wait!
On the home front, Steve and i found a parcel of land we love and my father approves of. We would like to put a bid on it, however we just found out today that the price it was listed for was wrong and it's a bit above what we can afford. I'm totally bummed, it was perfect for us, but what can you do. Hopefully it will work out, but it's not looking good.
Last but not least, my lovely hubby will be leaving me right before we close on our apartment to head to London for an internship my father was nice enough to get him. He is super excited and we are hoping something will come of it...even if it's just networking and him learning a lot. Whatever the case, it will be a great experience and he just better make it home on time to help me pack up the apartment :)
aw, looks like fun!
