Mommy gets the cold shoulder!

Oh the hardships of being a working mother. Because it was a holiday weekend and I stayed home sick from work for three days I got to be with Max for six full days which he and I both enjoyed. Sadly today I returned back to work and when I came home he gave me the cold shoulder and started to act out. I have never seen him act like this before and his nanny told me that it was totally normal and she had seen it many of times before with other children when their mothers left them like that. It is his way of telling me that he is mad at me for leaving him, and let me tell you he definitely put me in my place. Steve had to work tonight so it was just Max and me. I couldn't get Max down to sleep, he was so worked up every time I left the room. So I took him out of the room at which point he vomited all over me, himself and the hallway. That makes it twice in two days....wonderful. So we jumped into his bath and washed the puke off of ourselves. He refused to let me leave him so I took him downstairs and he ate dinner with me before I put him down and let him cry it out for a few minutes. At which point he FINALLY fell asleep. It is hard seeing him want to be with me so badly and being hurt that I'm not there with him all the time. All he wants to do when I get home is be with me which is nice but tiring after I've worked all day, am sick and pregnant at the same time. But I'll take my son wanting to be with me any day!
