Getting prepared for a ten day trip with a newborn was not easy. There was sooo much to pack and my stress level was through the roof. We got up at 4am after having had my father and brother over for dinner to watch the super bowl. Yes, New Orleans won which was great since I went to school there. We were exhausted but managed to get to the airport without a hitch. We had breakfast and loaded up on coffee:
Max was a total angel on the flight and slept on me the entire time until we landed which is when we fed him so his ears wouldn't hurt him. Everyone commented on how good he was and he just smiled at them and started cooing...it melted my heart.
Max's first trip on an airplane:
Once we landed we rented a huge Jeep Commander since there was no way we could fit into a regular sedan. We drove to see my grandmother who lives in a nursing home and can't speak anymore. The moment she saw Max she grabbed him and held him close. I haven't seen her that happy in years. She was smiling from ear to ear the entire time and only wanted to spend time with him. Here are some photos of them together:
We took him out to dinner with us and he was pretty tired but he was good for the most part:
It was so nice to see my grandmother so happy with her great grandson, and after two days with her we were on our way to Miami. We drove through Naples and had lunch with some good friends, Max was great the entire car ride.
aw, the pictures of Max with his grandma made me tear up. I just got some pictures of Aidan with his great-great-grandmother who's 90 years old, and I just think it's so sweet when older family members get a chance to love on babies. Glad you had a safe trip!
