Max 6 Months old:
It's amazing how much this little boy of ours has changed our lives. Motherhood is the most amazing thing I've ever experienced and I relish every moment of it. Having Maxi turn 6 months old has made me realize just how precious time is, and lately I've been struggling a little about being a working mother, which is why I wrote Maxi a letter. One day when he is older I hope he reads this and realizes how much I miss him when I'm not around.
Dear Schnoogs,
Happy half birthday sweet boy. I can't tell you enough how much love your father and I have for you. My entire life changed the day you were born and I couldn't imagine a day without you in it. You make me smile even when you're not around. Everyday on the train ride home after work I catch myself just smiling at your picture on my phone counting the minutes until I get to see your face.
Recently I've been struggling with the fact that I'm not around during the day to be with you. I don't have a choice, and don't get me wrong, I enjoy what I do. I am however torn, and it breaks my heart to be away from you all week long, having someone else watch after you. Sometimes I'm jealous your nanny Maria gets to see all your "first" milestones (luckily I haven't missed a milestone yet) and I fear you will mistaken her as your mother and forget about me. I know it's crazy and I'm so grateful we found you a caregiver who adores you and takes such good care of you. But my dear son, it is difficult for me. Once things settle down, I promise you I will find a job with less hours so I can be home with you more. Until then, please know that I think about you every second of every day. You and your father are my life and I work hard for our family. I thank you for giving me the gift of motherhood, it is a role I cherish and do with pride. I love you Max, more than you will ever know.
Love,
Mommy
Steve and I took Maxi to our pool after work in his new floating boat...here are some pictures of him loving the water. It was a lot of fun doing that as a family and I hope now that the weather is nice we can do more activities together as a family when I get home from work.
Maria took him to the pool earlier that day with the all the ladies, what a stud muffin:
After some fun in the pool we head home for bath time:
Aw, he was so handsome then and even more handsome now! I love his little floaty. Happy 6 Months Max!
ReplyDeleteHe is so cute!!! Happy Birthday Max!!! I am so torn as well but like you said, we don't have a choice =-)))
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies! We are all working mothers so we can relate. On the positive...our time with our children is definitely quality time!
