After three very long months of teething Maxi finally has a tooth coming out! I came home from work today when Steve excitedly told me to check his gums...and there it was...Max's first tooth! One has finally poked through his gums and is on its way out. He is putting his fists and everything else into his mouth now since he is in a bit of pain.
Maxi has been trying to crawl all day long. He can easily get on all fours and move his legs, the only problem is he doesn't understand that he has to move his arms too. There have been numerous occasions where he has moved his legs so fast that they knocked out his arms and he crashes head first into the ground. He still loves to roll around and can sit on his own for long periods of time. He has yet to sit up himself though, we always have to put him in that position and I wouldn't say he is 100% secure in that position but he can do it unassisted.
Max never sits still and loves to move around. Steves new nickname for him is 'Wild Man Bill' and it suits him perfectly. Even bathing him has become more difficult since he turns around now from his back to his belly. He sometimes gets a fright from putting his head in the water and swallowing water. We have to be extra vigilant with him constantly moving around.
My favorite part of the day is when he wakes up. When we walk into the room and turn on the light he is already peering above his crib on all fours with the biggest smile on his face. He still loves to smile and he always manages to make me forget any worries I have on my mind.
Lately he has had a bit of separation anxiety. Not everyday which is good, but with people he doesn't recognize it happens . At times he doesn't like to be put down and only wants to be held which can be quite difficult given how much he weighs. Daddy and Mommy watched the Argentina World Cup Soccer game and brought Maxi to his grandparents. He gave them a run for their money, never wanting to be put down and crying after I left for quite some time.
Maxi loves to hold onto us and stand on his toes. We are trying to get him to stand on his flat foot, but he seems to revert to his tippy toes.
He also loves to explore with his hands which is why we put some of his food in front of him so he can feel the texture and he loves to do make a mess:
